    The Monki Bra Guide

Just like any other part of our bodies, our breasts are different. But they all have one thing in common – what you put over them should make you feel comfortable.
From soft non-wired bras to padded bustier bras – as our range of styles and fits increase, we want to make it easier to find the right bra for you.

This is the Monki Bra Guide.

    The Monki bra style guide

Our bras are divided into different categories according to style and fit.

    Wire bras

Shaping and volume, feat. both padded and unpadded bra styles.

    Soft bras

Providing a bra silhouette without the wire.

    Bra tops

Soft bras & bralettes: Easy to pull on and extra comfy under tight clothing.

    The Monki bra fit guide

How should a bra fit me?

Each body is different, and your clothing size may differ from your bra size. You may have small breasts, large breasts, no breasts, one breast, or breasts of different sizes. But regardless of size, a bra should do some things for your body.

    • Fit snugly and support your chest.
    • Not suffocate you or cut into your skin.
    • Lift any breasts in a comfortable way.
    • Be kind to your back and contribute to good posture.
    • Feel good under your clothes.

    Taking care of your bra

As our bodies change, our bras need to change to. And when you’ve found the bra that suits you, (wired, non wired, soft or padded) make sure to take care of it the best you can, so that it will take care of you.

    • After 4-5 uses, wash your bra by hand with cold water and a mild detergent.
    • Don’t twist your bra to get rid of water, gently press down on it instead
    • Let your bra airdry, don’t put it in the dryer
    • If your bra has clasps, close them when storing. For bras with cups, store them with the cup up so that it keeps it shape.

    Finding your bra size

To find your bra size, first measure around your chest just below your breasts. This determines the band size.
Second, measure across the fullest past of your breasts. This determines your cup size.

    • The bra material will stretch over time, so it should fit snuggly and comfortably on the outer clasp from start, so that you can easily tighten it when needed.
    • Is the back of the bra rising over the course of the day? Are your breasts “spilling out” of the cups? Then it’s time to get a bigger size.
    • The centre of the bra should lay flat against your chest.
    • Does your bra have underwire? Then it should frame each breast without pinching or cutting into them.
    • Not all same cup sizes are in fact the same. If you’re a C cup according to one bra brand, you may need another cup size when trying another brand.

    • Tip: If you pull down the straps and your bra is still fitting snuggly and comfortably, you’ve found a good bra size.
