    We’re so excited to launch our new resale concept in collab with Sellpy and you, the Monki community! We’re calling it Monki PreLoved, an opportunity for you to both sell and buy clothes and pass on the style torch to another Monkifriend. Our first pilot resale area is up and running at our Götgatan 19 store in Stockholm.

    How does it work?

    1. Register your items online, including photos, and book a time for drop-off.  
      Register your items

    2. We’ll notify you when your items have been approved for resale. Then bring them to the store where our amazing staff will help you with pricing at the drop-off area.  

    3. When the month is up and we’ve sold your items, you’ll receive a 40% commission straight to your bank account. Just like that! 

     

    What can I bring in?

    Yay: seasonal (so no winter clothes in summer and vice versa), whole and clean items that you want to give to another Monkifriend so that you can extend the lifespan of the clothes together. Quality is key! And no, it doesn’t have to be just Monki!

    Nay: Kids clothes, real fur or leather, and items in bad condition, for example with a lot of pillings, holes, loose seams etc. We trust you’ll bring nothing but the best 🧡

    How much do I get back when selling through Monki Preloved?

    40% goes to you!

    What happens if my items don’t sell?

    We’ll keep your items in the store for 4–5 weeks. If they don’t sell, we’ll either give them back to you (if you wish), or we’ll send them to I:CO where the items will be sorted into two categories: clothing that can be worn again (second hand), and clothes that can be turned into other useful products. Or, if the items aren’t wearable, it will get recycled into textile fibre. 

    Will Preloved be available in other Monki shops?

    We’ll start at Monki Götgatan to collect learnings from the project. Hopefully, we’ll be able to make the concept available in more shops soon!

    Where are the items coming from?

    The items are handpicked from either Sellpy or you, our Monki community. Everything in Monki Preloved is second hand, our main objective is to extend the lifespan of clothes, whilst finding you special pieces that can live on.

    Are you accepting other brands than Monki?

    Of course! We know you, our Monki community, have great style, and as long as the items are in good condition, don’t hesitate to bring them in!

    How many items can I sell at a time?

    As long as we have enough room, and you have great stuff ­­– the sky’s the limit!

    How long does it take for the me to get approval from store staff?

    We try to accept items every day and get back to you as soon as possible. 

    How and when do I get paid?

    When we’ve sold your items, and the month is up, you’ll receive payment using your IBAN number. 

    Can I return resale items?

    Unfortunately, we don´t accept returns. But why not try and sell it again if you no longer use it? That way, the clothes will live on and on. 

    Why reuse, why not recycle?
    Today, only 1% of the textiles out there can be recycled into new clothes. While technical solutions on a bigger scale aren’t available yet, Monki wants to be a part of the work for a more sustainable world of fashion. So instead of just waiting for those solutions to come into place, we believe in reusing the clothes that are out there, extending the lifespan.
